ABOUT
OLIVIA RUSHTON VETERINARY PHYSIOTHERAPY
Having been animal obsessed from a very young age, I always knew I wanted to work with animals. At just 11 years old I spent every weekend and school holidays working at my local riding school! I gained many years of experience handling, training and exercising horses throughout my teenage years. I then went on to study Animal Behaviour at Liverpool John Moores University. During my undergraduate degree I established my successful doggy daycare business Lottie&Friends, named after my cheeky spaniel Lottie. I qualified from the University of Nottingham with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy, and alongside my knowledge of animal behaviour I provide a very personal, holistic approach to Veterinary Physiotherapy.
In accordance with the Veterinary Surgery Act 1996 and exemptions order 2015, any physiotherapy assessment and treatment requires the completion of a referral form from your veterinary surgeon. Download here.
WHAT WE OFFER
EQUINE PHYSIOTHERAPY
As a veterinary physiotherapist, I work alongside veterinary surgeons, farriers, saddlers, dentists and trainers to ensure first and foremost we keep your horse happy, healthy and comfortable.
Regardless of your horses' discipline, I can assist in keeping your horse performing at their optimum level and enjoying their job. All horses benefit from regular physiotherapy and subtle changes in performance and behaviour may suggest they are in need of a veterinary physiotherapy assessment. Assessment from a qualified veterinary physiotherapist can pick up on musculoskeletal asymmetries or problem areas that may be early indications of a treatable condition. Based on extensive research Veterinary physiotherapy is also a vital tool for the rehabilitation of injuries.
CANINE PHYSIOTHERAPY
Veterinary physiotherapy is also incredibly beneficial for dogs, keeping them comfortable, functional and happy. Veterinary physiotherapy encourages healing, making it important for the rehabilitation of many conditions and injuries. Regular treatment improves performance and aids in preventing secondary injuries. Owners are often surprised by how much they enjoy the home exercises, finding them valuable in improving the bond with their dog and understanding their physical fitness more. And of course, the dogs enjoy all the treats involved!

Olivia has been helping with my dog Daisy 11yrs who has injured her crucial ligament, Daisy is very wary of new people and Olivia has taken her time to not push Daisy to much. Daisy now runs up to Olivia excited when she arrives for her physio session and is coming on nicely each week to strengthen that leg with injury. Olivia also works all over Daisy's body to make she she is feeling as best she can. Overall I highly recommended Olivia to anybody who needs help with there dog, she is very good at understanding what the dog and owner needs to work well together for best outcome.
